Tom and Laurie Poggi

We didn’t grow up hanging out in a winery converted from an old barn, or walking vineyards that were previously walnut groves, or tasting blends with our grandparents. We didn’t grow up in Napa Valley. We didn’t even grow up in California. And, neither of us worked in the wine business.

After purchasing a home in Calistoga, California we began to explore wine-making. At first it was a hobby. Over time our taste, knowledge, and appreciation for wine exploded as did our love of Napa Valley and admiration for its terroir and its sunny disposition. Soon we were hooked. When we enlisted the guidance of Placido Garcia to learn about vineyard management we knew we were crossing into unchartered waters. Our hobby had officially evolved into a passion; one we wanted to share beyond our own table.

At our core, we are a couple who love life. A beautiful wine, especially a great Cabernet Sauvignon, is often present at those perfect moments of our life. But it does not end with us. At Poggi we hope your enjoyment at each sip will add another layer of richness to your life, becoming part of the fabric of your experience.
